About Saison Cellar Founder & Winemaker, Mark Bright
Born in Chicago, Mark Bright has been passionate about wine since he traveled to Europe at the age of 15. He became a Sommelier on his 21st birthday and quickly moved to San Francisco to work with Rajat Parr. His first travels took him to the regions of Burgundy and the Rhone Valley, where he found his inspiration in the wine world and has maintained that focus and advocacy throughout his career. In 2005, Mark was honored as one of the “Best New Sommeliers” by Wine and Spirits and was featured in Wine Spectator as a “New Wine Turk” in 2006.
Bright co-founded and opened two Michelin-starred Saison, which has been awarded a Wine Spectator “Grand Award” every single year since 2014, followed by Saison Hospitality Group, where he also serves as Beverage Director.
Mark is a passionate winemaker and advocate of the vineyards in Santa Cruz. It was the diverse soil types and ocean-influenced climate that he finds most interesting and that drove him to the region. His Saison Winery labels are focused on single vineyard expressions and smaller production to extract the purest and highest quality of the harvest.
Pickup
Club wines will be available for pickup starting the 2nd Monday of each month, by appointment only. Appointments can be made Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm.
Choose from our pickup location near the Ferry Building in SF, or at our Saison Cellar & Wine Bar location in Scotts Valley. We will reach out to you to schedule your pickup appointment each month.
Please note, due to our limited storage space, wines not claimed after 90 days will be considered forfeited and cannot be refunded.
Nationwide Shipping
We also ship to every state except Mississippi and Utah.
During summer and winter months, in order to avoid extreme heat or cold, we may hold your wines and send all the bottles accumulated over a few months all in one shipment. We will let you know in advance should such a weather hold be necessary.
Someone over the age of 21 with valid ID must be physically present to receive deliveries containing alcohol.
Billing
The Wine Club is billed 48 hours prior to the second Monday. You can make any changes, such as skipping the upcoming month, before then.
Need to skip a month? No problem—simply log in to your Member Portal to skip.
You can also cancel at any time through the Member Portal.
